Raingutter Regatta
Held in September. Kits provided by the pack.
Scouts shape, build and paint/decorate wooden trimaran boats and race them by blowing through straws to propel them along a water-filled rain gutter.
Boat specifications:
Boat width maximum: 3 1/4"
(No wider than the plastic form provided. Wood pieces should be attached narrow side up.)
Boat length maximum: 7"
Sail placement notes: Sails that are too low may brush
against the side of the gutter, but should not be so high as to throw off the balance. Also, glue or tape them in place to keep them from rotating on the masts. (Consider testing your scout's boat at home in water for balance and seaworthiness!)
Rules:
Cannot use boats built in previous years.
Must use the parts from the kit.
Decorative details, paint, stickers etc. are permissible as long as these details do not exceed the maximum length and width specifications.
Boats may not be touched once placed in the water.
Cubmobile

Bottom clearance between car and track: 3/8" (make sure nothing will drag on the track)

Wheel bearings, washers, and bushings are prohibited.
The car shall not ride on springs.
Only official Cub Scout Grand Prix Pinewood Derby wheels and axles are permitted.

Each car must pass inspection by the official inspection committee before it may compete.
If, at registration, a car does not pass inspection, the owner will be informed of the reason for failure, and will be given time within the official weigh-in time period to make the adjustment.
After final approval, cars will not be re-inspected unless the car is damaged in handling or in a race.
